Privacy Policy — Country Stats Card

Summary

Country Stats Card's free tier makes zero network requests. Every free-tier fact (capital, population, area, region, language, currency, flag) ships bundled inside the extension and is matched against your search query entirely on your own device — nothing about what you search is ever sent anywhere. The paragraphs below explain exactly what does leave your browser once you activate the optional Pro tier, and why.

What we don't collect

No browsing history
No search queries sent to any server
No analytics or tracking scripts
No ads, no ad-network SDKs
No account, email, or sign-up required to use the free tier
No data sold or shared with third parties for advertising

Local storage on your device

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to remember, only on your own device:

Per-search-engine toggle state (Google / DuckDuckGo on or off)	Remembers your preference between browser sessions.
Pro license key and cached validity state	Lets Pro features stay unlocked without re-checking on every page load.
A randomly generated installation identifier	Required by Lemon Squeezy's license system to tell one install of the extension apart from another activation of the same key — it is not linked to your name, email, or browsing activity.

None of this local data is transmitted anywhere except as described below.

Network requests this extension makes

Destination	When	What is sent
`api.worldbank.org`	Pro only — when you open a live trend chart or the full report page	The country code(s) and indicator being requested. No personal data, no identifiers.
`api.lemonsqueezy.com`	When you activate a Pro license key, and roughly twice a day afterward to re-confirm it's still valid	The license key you entered and the random installation identifier above.
`unikdev.app`	Only if you use the optional "Report an issue" form, or after you uninstall the extension	The report form sends the message you typed. The post-uninstall page is opened as a normal browser tab (an optional feedback survey) — no data about you is sent to trigger it.

Country facts are derived from mledoze/countries (ODbL 1.0) and the World Bank Open Data API (CC BY 4.0). Flag icons are from flag-icons (MIT). Country map illustrations are from mapsicon by Damien Jaisson. Full attribution is included in the extension's options page footer.

Children's privacy

Country Stats Card is a general-audience reference tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date below will change and, for any material change, we'll note it in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing changelog.
